IELTS
The IELTS test is administered by the British Council,
Cambridge University, and IDP. It is given in two forms:
General and Academic. The Academic Module is intended for
those who seek admission from American, Canadian,
British and Australian universities. The General Module
is in fact a certificate in English, which has recently
been used by the Canadian and Australian embassies for
the immigration process.
The test is in four sections: Listening, Speaking, Reading
and Writing. The listening and speaking parts of both
Academic and General modules are similar, but the reading
and writing parts differ. For more information, visit www.ielts.org.
GRE and GMAT are also administered by ETS. All applicants (English
and non-English speaking) are required to take the tests for
post-graduate studies in prestigious Canadian and American universities.
www.gre.org or www.ets.org will give you more information.
